Jack Mula

Jack Mula, a respected and well known sports attorney with over 25 years experience, recently served from 1999-2008 as General Counsel-Player Personnel for the New England Patriots, reporting directly to owners Robert and Jonathan Kraft and Head Coach Bill Belichick.

Mula’s wealth of experience in professional football allowed him to provide valuable counsel and advice in all operating areas of the entire organization including player acquisition and contract negotiation, player conduct and discipline, player marketing and media, player injuries and grievances, salary cap compliance, the NFL Constitution and Collective Bargaining Agreement, football operations, and legal and business affairs.

Mula’s stellar contract work with the New England Patriots established the “Team First” approach which has become the foundation of the club’s sustained success; four Super Bowl appearances, three Lombardi Trophies, the longest winning streak of regular season and playoff games in NFL history, recognition by Forbes Magazine as the “Best Team in Sports” and by the players of the NFL as “The Best Organization in the National Football League”, and by numerous sports industry publications as “The Team of the Decade”.

Contracts negotiated for the Patriots included Tom Brady, Wes Welker, Vince Wilfork,  Richard Seymour, Ty Warren, Logan Mankins, and many more. Prior to joining the Patriots, Mula was a top Player Agent who negotiated contracts for  Doug Flutie, Priest Holmes, Rocket Ismail, Sean Jones, Matt Millen, Fred Smerlas, and numerous other clients. 

Mula also worked directly with the COO of State Street Global Advisors, the money management firm of global banking giant State Street Bank on sports marketing strategies and the organization's entry into private asset management of high net worth sports clients.

Mula is a former City Attorney in his hometown of Waltham, Massachusetts, and is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and New England Law. He was named a Massachusetts Super Lawyer in 2005, 2007, and 2008, is a member of the Sports Lawyers Association, and was past co-chair of the Boston Bar Association Sub-Committee on Sports and Entertainment. He has participated as a panelist on the law and business of professional football at several academic institutions including Harvard, MIT, and Boston College.

Steve Poreda

Steve Poreda is the founder of MAST Data Systems, a software development firm located in Tampa, Florida.  He has over 30 years experience in developing unique software solutions for clients in various industries including professional sports (New England Patriots and Boston Celtics), manufacturing, distribution, finance, retail, construction, real estate management, insurance, and collegiate academics.

While working with the New England Patriots for more than 12 years, Poreda collaborated closely with team executives, player personnel staff, and coaches in developing college scouting evaluation, draft selection, game tendency analysis, and physical testing programs.

Poreda's expertise in data management includes integration mapping, data integrity, and analytics.  He graduated from Michigan State University (BS, Mathematics) and University of Southern California (MS, Systems Management).
