Why Cornerstone?

Experience. Experience. Experience.

Our professional experience in the NFL, and in working with various athletic departments, makes Cornerstone a unique and valuable resource for the university, the student-athlete, and his family.

Cornerstone is NOT a sports agency, but is a consulting firm, led by former NFL front office executives with the first-hand decision-making experience required for the proper education and guidance of the student-athlete and his family. Our team boasts nearly 70 years of NFL decision-making experience, which uniquely positions us to assist the nation's top football programs—and their compliance departments—cover crucial topics with their student-athletes.

Cornerstone provides insight and builds a solid educational foundation to help each student-athlete and his family gain an in-depth understanding about the world of professional football. By doing so, the student-athlete is put in the best position to focus on the tasks at hand, and ultimately make informed, sound decisions.

The Cornerstone goal is to contribute to the success of each student-athlete during his collegiate football experience and beyond.

Our program makes an impact and provides value for each of the following:

Cornerstone assists the University in providing the most accurate, up-to-date information, data and experienced guidance to its student-athletes and their families as they progress through their college careers and pursue their dreams of playing in the NFL. Cornerstone's structured and disciplined program provides expert assistance and resources to the student-athlete, demonstrating the university's ongoing commitment to excellence and professionalism in its athletic program.

Through individualized meetings, the Cornerstone program educates and prepares the student-athlete and his family to develop the best plans and make the best decisions in order to maximize the student-athlete's "value" in all areas (academically and athletically). The program focuses on how the student-athlete is "Painting the Picture" of himself, daily—as an individual and as a football player—and how each dimension of his life will be evaluated by NFL clubs. The Cornerstone team helps to eliminate distractions that interfere with success by helping the student-athlete and family understand and control the process with regard to agents.

The Cornerstone team works hand in hand with the football program to assist each student-athlete to maximize his "value" as a college player. The Cornerstone program focuses the student-athletes and their families on having a disciplined and structured plan for success. It helps to identify and eliminate distractions that negatively impact the student-athlete and the Program.

The Cornerstone team works closely with the Compliance Department to assist in educating each student-athlete by helping him avoid the temptations that could jeopardize his eligibility as a collegiate athlete and affect his standing as an NFL prospect. Cornerstone assists the university and student-athlete by developing a structured plan to properly handle agent recruiting, agent interviews and, ultimately, agent selection.

The Cornerstone program educates the family (or support group) of the student-athlete about the entire NFL scouting process as well as the agent recruiting, interviewing and selection process. The program stresses the importance of eliminating distractions that interfere with the student-athlete's performance and success and makes clear how the family can best support the student-athlete. The knowledge gained by the families from the program assists them in controlling the entire agent selection process in a respectful, confident and disciplined manner.

The Cornerstone program provides structure, discipline and transparency to the agent recruiting, interviewing and selection process, allowing the student-athlete to make sound decisions concerning agent representation. An honest, structured process is valued and appreciated by professional, competent agents and creates the best environment for a student-athlete to make a decision regarding representation.
